[attr="class","ability"]AZTANTI ENDOSKELETON
Recovered during an expedition on Bliss searching temples and relic caches that litter the subterranean catacombs beneath the planet’s icy surface. The science expedition team, consisting of A. Mikollopria, Phoebe Elizabeth Audalia Hemsworth IV and Mellka Hyenyota, exhumed an ancient relic skeleton as a gift to Kelvin offering him a physical form that his humanoid peers could better relate to. The skeleton appears almost simian in its structure except for a monstrously large set of jaws that extend out from the skull and seem to weigh down the rest of the body in a slight hunch as a result. The porous bones once belonged to an energy-resonant golem-like guardian constructed by the Aztanti. They illuminate in a spectrum of colour when exposed to nearby energy sources.
[attr="class","ability"]UNIVERSAL TRANSLATOR PLUG-IN
Chief Science Officer Gunnar Kleese fitted Kelvin with this psychoactive piece of nanotech that, when finely tuned by a remote device, taps into Kelvin’s potent telepathic emissions and transmits a translation for the listener before it reaches their mind. His voice is multi-layered, sounding as several male voices speaking at once in different octaves. The voice is well-spoken, articulate, even theatrical in its creative use of lyricism. It often expresses itself in classical terminology and forms of verse from a bygone age, but some expressions just cannot be translated accurately. These are most often Kelvin’s roars of rage, frustration and pain which are typically left in their original, violent tone.

[attr="class","heading"]Abilities and Combat Style:
Over time, the Kelvite colony has evolved to survive as extramophilic microorganisms by psionically slowing down the atoms in matter to drastically lower surrounding temperatures. Most commonly, Kelvin freezes water particles in the air to create ice and frost. Using this ability, Kelvin is able to build and reshape his skeletal body to give it bulk. Most commonly, he will assume a fearsome warlike appearance best suited to conflict by growing a broad torso out of dense permafrost and towering icicles from his head and hands to serve as brutal spikes and heavy fists in combat. He can also raise barriers of thick ice out of the air to blockade offensive forces and keep his comrades safe.
[attr="class","ability"]HIVE MIND TELEPATHY
The collective psychic potential of the Kelvite colony produces a very potent form of telepathy when the microbes are in close proximity of one another. However, the vast majority of the colony’s psychic focus is on uniting itself into one single consciousness so Kelvin’s telepathic ability is not so outwardly focused except for communicating with the outside world via psychic emissions. The colony is still sensitive to incoming telepathic messages and can sense psionic potential in others, although telepathic attacks often prove ineffective as Kelvin’s mind is comprised of countless others and often feels as slippery and unwelcoming as ice itself to those who dare to probe.
[attr="class","ability"]DIGESTION AND RESTORATION
Classed as “omnitrophic” by Nova’s scientists, the microbes that make up the Kelvite colony are able to rapidly break down both organic and inorganic matter at a cellular level for energy consumption, particularly by making good use of the Aztanti Endoskeleton’s enormous jaws to smash and crush matter down into digestible mulch in a few enormous bites. Kelvin can then use this energy to energise himself and reinforce the density of the ice that makes up the majority of his body with extra layers of protection to gradually build up his physical bulk to gargantuan levels making him very tough to take down. After a few substantial meals, Kelvin becomes a veritable juggernaut.
[attr="class","ability"]SUBLIMATION
With concentration and an expulsion of energy Kelvin can suddenly disperse into his natural form, becoming what appears to be a cloud of frozen mist illuminated from within by the Aztanti Endoskeleton’s response to a sudden shift in energy. In this form, he essentially becomes a sentient blizzard able to move swiftly through the air and pass through narrow passages at will. Any who come into contact with Kelvin in his sublimated form are exposed to a sudden drop in temperature that can slow and stun the unwary. He can travel through the air in any direction at increased speed and then re-solidify back into his golem shape to cover distance in a short amount of time.
Battle Tactics: Despite his gracious demeanour off the battlefield, when called to war Kelvin becomes just as bestial as he appears. Brute strength and reinforced hardiness are his two key advantages in combat - as well as his versatile freezing abilities. He will typically launch in, bash and crush adversaries with his heavy ice fists, smash the ground to keep them off-balance with tremors, and take big bites out of them whenever the opportunity comes up. If he spots a large swarm of enemies or some heavy firepower coming his way, he raises a protective ice barrier up to block it and if that fails, he can always shift into his sublimated form and either escape at speed or make a wintry assault against any he passes through. The longer Kelvin is left standing and consuming enemies around him, the tougher and harder to defeat he becomes. As the Eldrid's defender, he serves as a mobile wall for his allies soaking up as much damage as possible, and hopefully attracting as much attention away from his frailer buddies as possible.
Weaknesses:
• Tech Tastes Funny - Kelvin has a distaste for modern technology. Phoebe's initial attempts to supply Kelvin with a physical body made out of plastics, alloys or hybrids were all unsuccessful. Because of this, Kelvin does not use shield technology like the majority of Battleborn, instead generating his own temporary minor shielding through reinforcing his own physical defenses.
• New to the World - Kelvin is still getting used to the wider world, how species communicate with each other and the finer nuances of social interaction. He is somewhat naive and child-like in his black-and-white outlook in life and unless he knows full-well that someone is evil through-and-through, Kelvin will likely believe most things said to him making him incredibly gullible.
• Can't Stand the Heat - Kelvin is understandably fearful of fire/extreme heats, as it threatens to destabilize the structure of his body and restrict the majority of his cryokinetic ability unless his power exceeds the level of heat present and is able to snuff it out. Similarly, Battleborn who command flames such as Ambra are
• Terrible Hunger - TBC
• Just Plain Scary - TBC
Character Trivia, Notes, Clarifications, etc:
Kelvin’s best friend is Miko who, as part of a hive mind themselves, understands him better than anyone. They have a form of interaction where Kelvin’s microbes and Miko’s spores spill out and mix with each other which most other Battleborn find disgusting. They also enjoy playing board games.
